Birthday Baby

Last year at 7am I gave birth to a baby Grockelina, who lay in my arms and was the most precious thing I had ever seen in my life. One year later at 7am I was sitting on the sofa with her and she had her own Baby Annabel on her knee, cuddling her and pretending she was sleeping. All that joking about having a girl and playing with dollies, and yet I didn't for one minute actually believe it would happen!

Toothbrush for Bobby

Grockelina has learnt how to pretend. Dolly gets half her biscuit every time we go swimming, and I have to make appreciative yum yum noises. Tonight for the first time, Bobby had to have his teeth brushed. I have a future vision of Bobby going everywhere - supermarket trolley, car, in and out of Granny's house. Bobby will probably enjoy the swings next time we go. No matter what wonderful things she gets for her birthday, I will remember today as the day she spent hours crawling through a big cardboard box tunnel, and playing with a handful of walnuts and a coffee measuring spoon.
